![[Yur.webp|left|1000]] ## The Four Regions of Yureihara **Yureihara** is the sole known landmass of _Eternal Night_, a realm born from the convergence of divine myth and digital design. Once a carefully balanced world governed by sacred laws and invisible systems, it now exists in a state of permanent twilight following the catastrophic event known as **the Twilight Fracture**. **
** ## ❄️ Ezo, The Frozen Edge of Memory Ezo lies in the far northeast, a land of endless winter, silence, and buried truths. Snow-covered plateaus, glacial forests, and whiteout storms dominate the landscape. Time behaves strangely here, memories fade faster, and forgotten content resurfaces without warning. This region is closely tied to loss and remembrance. Spirits linger longer than they should, and ancient systems thought deleted continue to operate beneath the ice. Travelers speak of structures that do not appear on any map and events that repeat differently each time they occur. Ezo is hostile, unforgiving, and deeply symbolic. It is the place where Yureihara stores what it could not erase. **
** ## 🌸 Honshu, The Shattered Heart Honshu is the cultural, political, and spiritual core of Yureihara, and the most densely populated region. It contains the greatest concentration of Sacred Cities, fortresses, settlements, and pilgrimage sites. If the world still functions at all, it is because Honshu insists that it must. Here, daimyo rule fractured territories, temples struggle to maintain relevance, and trade continues under the shadow of supernatural instability. Sacred ley lines intersect beneath cities like Edo and Utsunomija, while forests, mountains, and ruins hide remnants of older expansions and forbidden systems. Honshu is where players most clearly feel the conflict between tradition and collapse. It is vibrant, dangerous, beautiful, and unstable, the place where most stories begin and many end. **
** ## 🏯 Shikoku, The Land of Discipline and Burden Shikoku lies west of Honshu and is defined by harsh terrain, martial tradition, and spiritual endurance. Mountains, deserts, and haunted coastlines divide its people, fostering strong regional identities and rigid codes of conduct. This region bears the weight of unresolved conflict. Ghostly processions, ancestral vows, and ritual obligations shape daily life. Cities like Matsuyama and Uwajima maintain order through ceremony and sacrifice, while ancient fortresses stand watch over lands that never truly healed. Shikoku rewards discipline and resolve. Those who arrive unprepared often find themselves bound by oaths they never intended to make. **
** ## 🌊 Kyushu, The Threshold of the Deep Kyushu occupies the southern reaches of Yureihara and is closely tied to the sea, gateways, and transformation. Ports, islands, submerged ruins, and underwater shrines dominate the region. It is the land most associated with travel, contracts, and irreversible change. Here, dragon kami, ocean spirits, and forgotten deities exert heavy influence. Bays and straits act as conduits for memory and prophecy, while portals tied to water and fate challenge those who pass through them to surrender something of value. Kyushu feels like the edge of the world. Many believe that if escape from Yureihara exists at all, it will be found here, though no one agrees on the cost. **
**
