Before the [[Twilight Fracture]], they appeared to follow the expected patterns of the game. After the Fracture, something changed. Their emotions seem deeper now. Their pain feels real. Their memories, fears, and reactions are beginning to stretch beyond the limits of scripted behavior. ## Appearance Game NPCs appear as the ordinary people of Yureihara. They may be shrine attendants, guards, merchants, couriers, performers, nobles, servants, priests, farmers, soldiers, or rulers. Their clothing, speech, and mannerisms reflect their station, region, and duties within the world. After the Twilight Fracture, their appearances carry more consequence. Ash stains remain on robes. Blood does not always vanish. Exhaustion touches their eyes. Fear changes how they stand, speak, and look at the [[Player NPCs]]. ## Common Knowledge To most Game NPCs, Yureihara is simply the world. They do not understand words like logout, menu, server, support ticket, respawn, or game in the way Player NPCs do. When they hear these words, they interpret them through their own culture, religion, and understanding of spirits, realms, and divine travelers. Some Game NPCs are beginning to ask dangerous questions. They have heard the Marebito claim that the world is broken. They have seen impossible systems fail. They have watched people die in ways that do not make sense. ## Mannerisms & Demeanor Game NPCs behave according to their roles, loyalties, duties, and personal fears. Some remain disciplined and formal, trying to preserve order. Others tremble, pray, flee, or cling to familiar routines. Many are beginning to react with a depth that feels newly awakened. They may still speak in the traditions of Yureihara, but there is now something sharper beneath the surface. Confusion has become curiosity. Curiosity has become fear. Fear may become rebellion, devotion, grief, or understanding.
